The REST Formula™ is a practical framework designed to help high-performing professionals improve their energy, recovery and resilience in a sustainable way.

The framework was developed through my combined experience as both an NHS GP and Stress Management Coach.

After more than 20 years working on the frontline of healthcare, I repeatedly saw how chronic stress, poor recovery and relentless pressure were affecting people both mentally and physically.

Many patients were presenting with symptoms such as:

  • headaches

  • anxiety

  • low mood

  • digestive symptoms

Yet underneath many of these presentations was a common pattern:

People were constantly operating in survival mode, without giving their mind and body adequate opportunity to recover.

Over time, I recognised that sustainable wellbeing could not rely on just quick fixes alone.

People needed a simple and practical framework that addressed the core foundations of physical and mental recovery in a realistic and sustainable way.

That became the basis of the REST Formula™.

It combines clinical insight, behavioural science and practical coaching strategies into four core pillars:

R — Recharge & Refuel

Many people try to push through stress by simply working harder.

But without adequate recovery, the nervous system never fully resets.

S — Sleep

Sleep is one of the most overlooked pillars of performance and wellbeing.
